Reasons Why You Over swing and How to Correct the Problem
Over swinging is very common in golf, and the problem can be corrected very easily. The definition of an over swing is when a golfer takes the golf shaft beyond the point where it is parallel to the ground at the top of the backswing.

Another action that a person can take at the top of a backswing is to make sure the spine angle is relatively vertical from the face-on view. It should not be leaning towards the target (The ball). In addition, your weight will need to be considerably heavier on your rear leg, and your knee should be flexed at the same angle, and that your knee should not move or point outside the foot.
Other precautions that can be taken to avoid over swinging is to make sure the lever arm (the left hand for right-handed golfers) is reasonably extended, but not totally rigid, rather than collapsed. Also, the hands and the wrist should be under control, and the fingers of the lever arm hand should remain closed
In addition, the back of the hand should not be bent back towards the forearm, and the hand grip should remain in tact. Also, for those who are not double-jointed, the angle between the shaft and the lever arm should not exceed much more than 90 degrees.
Those who follow the above tips will not usually be able to over swing.
